TwinHub

United Kingdoms

Project

The United Kingdoms has ambitious plans to reach zero emissions by 2050 with targets of 40 GW of offshore wind, including 5 GW of floating offshore wind. That’s why Hexicon decided to put its first floating wind platform in the deep waters just outside the coasts of Cornwall on the southwest coast of the UK.

TwinHub is a project 100 % owned and managed by Hexicon since 2021. The project aims to pilot Hexicon’s floating technology TwinWindTM using two 8 MW MingYang turbines per floater. Once commercialised the total capacity will be 32 MW and provide electricity for about 45,000 households in the community of Cornwall for many years to come.
