A joint venture between Hexicon AB and Mainstream Renewable Power
Dyning is the name of the third offshore wind project for Freja Offshore, a joint venture between Hexicon AB and Mainstream Renewable Power. The project, initiated in 2021, is situated in the Swedish economic zone between the Swedish mainland and the island of Gotland.
The offshore wind park is planned about 45 kilometres outside the east coast of Sweden outside the region of Södermanland. When fully developed, Dyning is estimated to supply 10 TWh annually which corresponds to the total electricity demand for Södermanland and Ăstergötland. The area has several energy-intensive companies and would thus benefit from an expansion of stable sustainable energy resources.
The latest project milestone was reached in October 2023 with the submission of the permit application to the Swedish Ministry of Energy Business and Industry. The next milestone will be when the Swedish Government will come back with a decision on the application. This is expected in the later parts of 2024.
