In Sweden’s national climate policy framework, the government sets out its vision for a fossil-free Sweden and aims towards zero net emissions by 2045. Sweden’s electricity consumption is expected to increase sharply in the coming years, as a result of industry and transport being electrified and phasing out fossil fuels. The government has now decided on Sweden’s first marine plans with the increasing demand for offshore windpower.
